QOTW: I want to suck your blood

This weeks question is, if you could become a vampire would you?

Moe’s Answer

This is a question I have thought about many times over the years. I definitely gave it the most thought about 15 years ago when I started reading Anne Rice’s Vampire novels (highly recommended). I would have to say that yes, I would become a vampire.

The thought of eternal life, to me, is too hard to resist. I actually considered that being the question this week, would you like to live forever, but there is no serious drawback to that, with this, you have to choose if you would be willing to kill in order for you to live for eternity. I think that for the most part I would stick to killing the weak and the poor for my food. I would justify it by saying I am thinning the herd, ridding society of the unwanted and dying. I would try and find people who are dying and just put them out of their misery. Of course, I also have a feeling that hot a 20 year old womand blood would probably taste the best and I probably wouldn’t be able to resist one of them from time to time ;)

Crawford, in his answer mentions how vampires are often rich. I see this as something that would come easy with being a vampire. With eternal life you have all the time in the world. It would be very easy to invest a relatively small amount of money and then you could just wait a hundred years and that small amount of money would be a whole lot of money. Plus, if you were the type of vampire that could turn into a bat or shape shift and what not it would be very easy to be a thief.

So yes, I would become a vampire, the biggest draw for me being eternal life.

Crawford’s Answer

I’ve fantasized about this before…and when I think about it now it’s a tough choice.

Part of me wants to do this…badly. Life eternal has a powerful pull. And talk about the ultimate “dark” superhero. You would (and I’m sure this is a quote from something) rule the night. Think of what you could do, what you could accomplish, the things you would see, the places you could go…

But really…could you do all those things? I’m sure avoiding the sun would be a lot more difficult than it sounds. Sure you could live forever but it may not be that easy a life. Drinking blood probably wouldn’t be all that hard to do but the movies and books always portray vampires as rich. How do they get rich? Sure you’d live a long time but just living doesn’t make you rich…if anything it costs you money. The best way to get rich would be through committing crime…

Which brings it back to some of the good points. You could…and would…be evil. There is no way of avoiding that. Your life continues because you drink the blood of the living and the living don’t want to give that up. So it’s a perfect excuse to be a very bad person. Isn’t there a strong appeal to be that bad?

So yes…I would choose to be a vampire. I’d be a bad ass dangerous killing living a life of crime and destruction vampire. I’d be the kind that books are written about and that scare little children. I’d be just visible enough in society to scare the living hell out of people. I’d be a party vampire that if you stayed up late with you wouldn’t survive to see daybreak.

So…um…how do I go about making this happen?
